Local Attractions

Here are some of the sites and attractions you can experience whilst staying here.

Seahorses is an excellent base from which to explore the West Wight by car, bus, bike or on foot. There is a bus stop right outside our front entrance from which you can go clockwise or anticlockwise around the Island. There are very many foot paths - a major one from Yarmouth to Freshwater Bay runs right through our garden!

Cliffs at Freshwater Bay

Freshwater Bay

Why not catch a bus and explore local footpaths in an area and then bus back? Within ten minutes car ride there are wonderful sandy beaches where you can swim or surf the waves. There is also a fine golf-course a short drive from us.

Compton Bay

'Dinosaur footcast' at Compton Bay

Fossil Dinosaur 'Footprint' at Compton Bay

There is a Paragliding and Hang-gliding school around the corner which caters for those with a head for heights who wish to have a go at these popular local sports. Pupils often stay at Seahorses.

For the cyclist there are very many road and 'off road' tracks all around the West Wight for your enjoyment.
