Welcome to Seahorses!
Seahorses Holiday Guest House was started in 1999 with the aim of offering a warm and friendly 'home base' from which to explore the local landscapes and attractions of the rural West-Wight. We welcome all holiday visitors, and are a member of both the I.O.W Tourist Board and Enjoy England.com, along with other organisations such as Pets Welcome. We are also an established four-star Bed and Breakfast.
New! Self catering Studio Cottage
Seahorses will be able to offer our holiday makers the brand new facility of a self catering cottage very soon. The cottage is being built right now as a stable conversion and will have two bedrooms (one double and a twin) plus a study/bedroom. The kitchen/dining/sitting room will be open plan and look out onto a small lawn and orchard. Studio Cottage is situated next to Seahorses Art Studio, and so will be perfect for residential Art Courses if this is wished for.
The lovely two and a half-acre garden of Seahorses B&B is also available to all self-catering guests. A few minutes walk away is the local Co-op supermarket. A 10 minute walk takes you to the local swimming pool, health centre and gym. Freshwater Bay is a pleasant 20 minutes walk away and the whole area has a well developed system of public footpaths taking you to coastal paths, downs and salt marshes.
We hope to be able to take the first bookings for the Studio Cottage for July 2010. If you need more information on availability and tariffs, please e-mail or phone us.

Seahorses is owned by the Sheiling Trust - a charity offering, amongst many other things, educational and recreational opportunities for children and adults with learning disabilities. The Lantern Community, a part of the Sheiling Trust, manages Seahorses on a day to day basis.
Over the years we have had many new and repeat visitors representing a wide variety of holiday makers; bird-watchers, golfers, walkers, cyclists, para-gliders, artists and crafts people to name but a few. We are used to family units, large groups with, say, a mini-bus, couples and of course, the individual holiday maker. Our secure car park is big enough for large touring vans, motor-homes or caravans to park and turn.
Guests enjoying their breakfast at Seahorses
Nearby are a wide range of local facilities, such as supermarkets, a garden centre, small village shops, pubs, cafés, health centre, gymnasium and swimming pool, all within ten minutes walk. Freshwater Bay can be reached by a charming public footpath which crosses our garden; taking about fifteen minutes walk, or a few minutes by car. Within ten minutes car journey from Seahorses can be found a huge variety of natural features; chalk cliffs, downland, beaches, bays, harbours, salt estuaries, farms and woodland. This landscape offers so much to both the naturalist and to those more inclined to active outdoor sports.

We hope this web-site will help you gain an idea of what Seahorses has to offer. Don't forget, if you are a family with small children we have a large 2.5 acre garden to play in and an Art Studio to be creative in (by arrangement with Boris, our resident artist); some families come at half-terms for this reason. In addition to the above, we offer Art & Craft Courses and facilities.

If after looking through this site you still have questions, please do not hesitate to e-mail or phone us, asking for Brenda or Boris (e-mail tends to be more reliable due to the possibility of both of us working in the garden when the weather is fine!) Whenever possible, we grow our own fruit & vegetables organically for our guests to enjoy.
